Title: DevOps Engineer

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Design and implement build, deployment, and configuration management in a hybrid environment that is distributed across the globe between Cloud and On-Premises
  • Ensures application solution design meet application performance criteria, security measures, release standards, and ensures application and system stability.
  • Contribute to maturing the DevOps and SRE practices within TE by utilizing methodologies such as CI/CD, Agile, and Acceptance Test Driven Development.
  • Develop scripts and automate using Perl/Python/Groovy/Java/Bash
  • Manage CI and CD tools with team
  • Provide thought leadership around the use of industry standard tools and models (including commercially available models and tools) by leveraging experience and current industry trends.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Architect, consulting partners and client IT team as warranted to establish and implement strategic initiatives.
  • Practice Root Cause Analysis to determine the scope and scale of issue impact. Create epics/stories and construct automation to prevent problem recurrence
Qualifications Experience/Education Required:
  • 8+ years of DevOps Engineering or similar software engineering role in build automation and continuous deployments
  • 3+ years of DevOps Engineering in Cloud platforms (AWS is preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in Analytical application configuration, optimization and testing (AWS & Cloudera is preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience with AWS tools such as S3, EC2, ECS, EKS, SageMaker, Aurora, RDS, Lambda Functions AMI, ELB, ALB, NLB, VPC, Auto Scaling configurations, DMS, Data Streaming.
  • Multiple experiences implementing solutions for advance analytics using open source (Cloudera based solutions and AWS based solutions are preferred)
  • Experience with Linux infrastructures, database SQL, Bigdata Platform, CI/CD tools, scripting such as JavaScript, PHP, Python, Perl, Ruby, Java, Shell scripting
Skills Required:
  • Designing, build and deploy programs for Big Data Platform, Cloudera Data Science Workbench, Data Streaming, Cloud Computing-AWS Stack, HDFS and Cloudera based Hadoop systems
  • Ability to collaborate with management, users, contract resources, vendors, and other IT teams
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities. Results oriented. Relies on fact-based logic for decision-making.
  • Ability to work with multiple projects and work streams at one time. Must be able to deliver results based upon project deadlines.
  • Willing to flex daily work schedule to allow for time-zone differences for global team communications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard and monitor
